Laser Tattoo Removal
Tattoos involve tattoo pigment being injected into the lower layers of the skin called the dermis, and is locked in by collagen fibres.
This means that tattoo ink particles are too large for the body’s immune system to break down and remove naturally.
Using our ND YAG Q switch laser tattoo removal technology, the tattoo ink selectively absorbs the laser energy to help with effective tattoo removal. The selective absorption ensures surrounding skin does not over heat and there is no lasting damage whatsoever.
Q-switched lasers produce a high intensity beam in very short pulses, generating heat that shatters the tattoo pigment into small particles which the body can remove through lymphatic drainage. This treatment is highly effective and can remove even the most stubborn of tattoos.
ND YAG stands for neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet which is a crystal that is used as a medium for laser treatments, in Q Switch mode ND YAG produces 2 wavelengths, one in the infrared range 1064nm which works on dark pigments and a second beam of 532nm wavelength which works on lighter coloured pigments and semi-permanent make up, such as brows or lip tattoos.
